Secrets to Happiness – Wise Words from one of my Mentors

A really wise man once told me… get a job you like and a bed that’s comfortable, because you’ll spend 2/3rd’s of your life in them.

I try to ask myself on a regular basis, was I excited to wake up today?

What about you?

Are you excited to wake up?

Are you excited to go spend 1/3rd of your life in the career path you’ve chosen?

If not it may be time for a change.

We’re launching a certification program next month for people who want to learn a highly profitable skill that can provide that exact freedom.

We’ll be teaching the exact process to refinish like a professional. All the steps, prep, materials, tools and execution. We’ve got limited spots (we’re only opening it up to 4 people next month), but for those four people this certification will undoubtedly change their lives. Click Here to learn how.

Why?

Because it will provide them a skill that they need to create their own path. To create their own stability.

On Saturday I talked about one of the first misconceptions when it comes to business, which is time freedom. By the way, I loved the responses I got.

Many of you get it.

The ones that didn’t, that’s ok. I’ve said this a thousand times and I’ll say it again, entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone.

Which brings me to the next two misconceptions. (#2 and #3)

#2 – You have to be a special type of person to run your own business.

Honestly… like most misconceptions, this is partially true. It does take a special type of person in the sense that you have to be determined, persistent and resourceful. You have to have faith in yourself and your ability.

But those are personality traits not inherent qualities. Being an entreprenuer doesn’t require some kind of freak genetics.

You don’t need to be 6’4 with a 40 inch vertical. (I never would have stood a chance).
You don’t have to some kind of genius like Elon Musk (most of us aren’t).
You don’t need to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth (I wasn’t).

You don’t have to be special… but you do have to have grit.

And often times that grit comes from the desire to control and have increased influence on the path of your life.

Entrepreneurship creates the opportunity for FREEDOM and CONTROL.

Once you figure it out, it’s actually the MOST STABLE path out there.

That’s the 3rd misconception.

#3 -Working for someone else is more stable.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

And I think 2020 showed a lot of people the flaw in that logic. TENS of THOUSANDS of STABLE JOBS went out the window because companies needed to cut costs. People who previously had “mandatory overtime” were getting “mandatory furloughs.”

I think it woke a lot of people up.

The reality is, unless you control the company… you don’t control your income. And if you’re not in control, it’s only stable until your boss decides otherwise.

That may be tomorrow, that may be never.  Sadly, it’s not up to you.

However when you’re the boss, you get to decide. And for myself (and our program graduates) that makes waking up exciting.  This is how.

So, were you excited to wake up this morning?
